This page contains some of the latest hunting information for the Jäger
2011 Deer Season
Here are the results from the 2011 hunting season. Tom Forest finally got his first buck (not a great one, but a real Northern Michigan deer). Rob won't be able to say "you're not going to get a deer this year", at least not for 2011.

Remembering Copper
The current Jagdführer of the Jäger, Rob Seiberling, recently lost his hunting companion of 14 years, a Brittany named Copper. Copper was an amazing dog, and many of the Carpathia Jaeger were lucky enough to hunt behind him when he was in his prime.
One day several years ago, during a Jäger pheasant hunt, Copper suddenly pulled up short and started limping. Rob picked his dog up and carefully carried him back to the truck. The vet's diagnosis was that Copper's right rear ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament, one of the ligaments that hold the knee together) was torn, probably from stepping into a hole. Even after several surgeries Copper still had a very severe limp. This did not stop Copper, however, and after a period of recovery he was right back in the field doing what he did best - finding the birds. Although age and injuries were slowing him down, Copper still had the stamina for a whole afternoon of pheasant hunting when Rob's son, Steven, was old enough to go.
More than just a hunting dog, he was a part of the Seiberling family, and all of the Jäger look back to our fond memories of hunting with Copper. Click on the image below to see some photos of Copper in the field.
2009 Deer Season
One of our junior members, Steven Seiberling, got his very first deer, a nice-bodied 6-point buck, while hunting in Sanilac County during the special youth hunt. Congratulations, Steven, and thanks to your dad for buying a round of drinks at the October meeting to celebrate!
