Individual Award Winners

Jäger König

The award of Jäger König is the highest honor a Jäger can win. This award is decided in a trap shooting competition consisting of two rounds, the first shot from the 16 yard line and the second a handicap round shot from a yardage equal to the score from the first round. When a Jäger wins the König award he is not eligible to win the award in the next two years. The annual King Shoot also decides Erste Ritter and Zweite Ritter – there are no limitations on how often a Jäger can win these awards.

Fruhner Trophy

The Fruhner trophy was an award originally donated by Josef Fuhner. Starting with the 6th King Shoot the previous Jäger Königs had a separate competition consisting of two complete rounds of trap, one from the 16 yard line and the other a handicap round. The highest score of this separate competition would be awarded the Fruhner Trophy.  The Fruhner trophy was retired after the 26th King Shoot after after having been awarded 21 times.

Luftgewehr

In 2000 the Jäger started a new tradition. Following each monthly meeting there is an air rifle competition. After one complete year of competitions, each Jäger takes his top six scores, and the Jäger with the highest total is awarded the Luftgewehr medal at the annual Jäger Bankett. In the ‘00 – ‘01 season each competition consisted of three shots at the traditional 12-point target. These matches were shot with guns brought to the meetings by the members. In 2001 the group purchased a Steyr LG-1 competition air rifle, and the course of fire was changed to consist of five shots at the international standard 10m air rifle target (10 point maximum). For the ’04-’05 season and later the rules were changed again – members over age 70 (or under age 18) could choose to shoot from a rest.
